Daily program

The complete program is 4 days, 3 nights, and 2 days of cycling.

• Day 1 Arrival in Siena
  2:00 PM Group transfer by private bus from Florence S.M.N station to Castello Banfi. Check-in and accommodation in reserved rooms with Eroica Kit and Travel Diary delivery. Meeting with Tour Leader and rental bike testing. Technical briefing during dinner with tasting menu. Overnight stay.
• Day 2 Starting/Ending Point: Poggio alle Mura - Distance: 45 Km (28 mi) / 900 m (2953 ft) D+
  Route featuring 2 Eroica Montalcino gravel sections, hilly dirt roads with some steep downhill sections. Panoramic views of Brunello vineyards, classic hills of Val d'Orcia, up to the top of Mount Amiata, the highest mountain of the Terre di Siena. The medieval villages of Castelnuovo dell'Abate, Montalcino, and St. Antimo Abbey enrich the trip with history and culture. Return to base. Extra à la carte lunch at one of the hosting property restaurants is recommended. Overnight stay.
• Day 3 Starting/Ending Point: Poggio alle Mura - Distance: 82 Km (51 mi) / 1600 m (5249 ft) D+
  Most of the Eroica Montalcino permanent route is covered, with 4 gravel road sections, including the famous Castiglion del Bosco climb: long and challenging to make the day truly heroic. The itinerary is characterized in the first part by landscapes rich in vegetation, vineyards, and olive trees, then declining into the sinuous and panoramic clay hills of the Crete Senesi. (Or optionally, an itinerary only for experts of 165 km with 2900m altitude difference. With a branch of 6 km out and 6 km back for a total of 12 extra km, we can complete the entire Eroica Montalcino permanent route). Return to base. Dinner at La Taverna del Castello.
• Day 4 Departure
  After breakfast, check-out and departure with group transfer by private bus from Castello Banfi to Florence S.M.N station and end of services.

RESIDENT TOUR: This tour involves a stable accommodation from which you depart every day to cover stretches of the Eroica routes. You can start directly from your accommodation or use a shuttle to reach the starting and ending point. This option is more flexible and less demanding in terms of cycling, and it doesn't require completing all or part of a ring tour. Each day is planned to optimize the time available and ensure a satisfying cycling experience, as well as opportunities for staying, relaxing, and experiencing the location or the residence facility.

Formula

WITH GUIDE: You will have an expert cycling guide at your disposal. He will accompany you throughout the route, providing you with detailed information about the area and the history of Eroica's roads. You can enjoy the journey in complete peace of mind, without worrying about planning the itinerary or facing the most challenging climbs alone.

Rider level

LIVELLO 3 / Eroica Challenger: For cyclists who love challenges and want to relive the original Eroica experience on a vintage or muscle bike. You will cover a maximum of 40-50 km per day with an elevation gain of 1000-2000m (depending on the days and itinerary). Get ready to pedal on challenging roads and experience the thrill like the cyclists of the past.

LEVEL 2 - Chianti Cruiser: This level is suitable for cyclists who want to explore the white roads of Eroica without facing long distances or challenging climbs, even with muscle bikes (gravel, mountain bike, road bike). You will cover a maximum of 30-40 km per day with an elevation gain of 800-1200m (depending on the days and itinerary) using a conventional bicycle. Take your time to enjoy the views, taste the Tuscan cuisine, and discover the hidden gems of this paradise place.

LEVEL 1 - E-bike Explorer: This level is perfect for cyclists who want to explore the white roads of Eroica comfortably. You will cover between 25 and 40 km per day with an elevation gain of 800-1500m (depending on the days and itinerary) using an e-bike. The assistance of the e-bike will allow you to enjoy the views without the need for excessive effort during climbs.
