Leaving Asciano and crossing the Ponte del Garbo, you encounter the "queen" of L’Eroica: the historic white road of Monte Sante Marie. This section, with its steep climbs and descents, presents a true challenge for the heroic cyclists in the saddle. From here, the route returns to Chianti via Castelnuovo Berardenga, the border where the harmonious Chianti hills meet the surreal landscape of the Crete Senesi.
